Quiet Tools LLC wants everyone to be able to use the Around The House website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification, or larger text.

What we aim for

Our target for this website is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We use it as the standard when we design, write, and test pages.

What we have done

  • Pages use headings, landmarks, and a “Skip to main content” link so they are easier to navigate.
  • Menus, forms, the annual checklist, and the Home Health Check work with a keyboard and show where focus is.
  • Text and controls are checked for color contrast, and meaning is not carried by color alone.
  • Pages reflow for small screens and browser zoom up to 400%.
  • App screenshots have text descriptions.
  • Animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.

We test pages with automated tools and manual checks. Testing does not catch everything, and some parts of the site may still be harder to use than they should be.
